"When you look at your life, the greatest happinesses are family happinesses." -- Joyce Brothers
Most people, on their deathbeds, have to work through a few regrets to get to peace. After all, life is short, and most of us don't accomplish everything we would have liked.
The biggest regret? Not being closer to the people in our lives. Our spouses. Our grown children. Our friends. Even our neighbors. Most people on their deathbeds say they wish they had loved more.
And the greatest happiness at the end of life? Almost invariably, family. Close family relationships, particularly those with our children, who, if we are lucky, outlive us and ease our passing. We all want to raise children with whom we stay close, children who adore us, children who carry on our legacy of love when we're gone.
Your future relationship with your child is already taking shape. Does it have the shape of happiness? If not, what can you do differently today to create more closeness?
May your week be filled with love, and all your stories with happy endings.
