How to Make a Decision about Vaccination

Dr. Laura,
How do I make a decision about whether to vaccinate my baby?
thanks!
Serena

Serena,
I am not a medical doctor, so I can't give you a medical opinion.  As a mother, I would urge you to educate yourself.  I think any pediatrician will give you the mainstream view.  For the alternative view, here are some resources, courtesy of Katie Hines, who is an Admin at the Facebook group Proud Parents Of Unvaccinated Children.

Two other great resources on Facebook are Great Mothers Questioning Vaccines and Vaccination Information Network (VINE) They are extremely educated on the subject, and also kind, and will help anyone with questions
.

I should add that I did vaccinate my kids, now ages 16 and 20.  But at the time the vaccine schedule was very different.  Now, many more vaccines are given at a younger age and in a very short period of time.  I might make a very different decision today.  And I would definitely work with my doctor to stretch out the vaccine schedule, if I did vaccinate.

Good luck in your research!
Dr. Laura
